Anna Croft - Fundraising Consultant
Before finding my home in the charity sector, my career was spent in the private sector, specifically Oil and Gas, which mostly involved clambering onto helicopters to head out to oil rigs. Since losing the overalls, I’ve worked across a few different roles in the third sector, including PA to CEO, Project Manager and Fundraising Officer. It’s given me a really good look behind the scenes of how a charity actually functions, so I know what it takes to keep the wheels turning.
I’m now a Fundraising Consultant for My Life helping to make sure the incredible work happening on the ground has the actual funding and strategy behind it to stay sustainable.
My passion for mental health isn't just professional; it’s personal. During the pandemic, while trying to figure out how to be a mum to a six-month-old, I took on a job that was way too high-pressure. Between the isolation of lockdown and the demands of the role, I hit a wall and ended up facing a near-breakdown. It was a scary time but it taught me that our brains aren't invincible.
I use my mix of experience to help My Life grow, firmly believing that peoples lived experiences, the messy parts included, are their greatest assets.
3 facts about me:
In 2011, I lived in a tent in Kruger National Park, South Africa, for two months while training as a wildlife tracker. (I’m much better at tracking down grants than lions these days).
In a previous life, I was a singer for professional summer seasons and function bands.
I’m a massive rock fan and I’m currently prepping my 6-year-old for his first big gig to see The Offspring.
